As a way of encouraging bicycling and promoting tourism, the committee has developed a unique bicycle loaner program which makes it possible for anyone who is interested to borrow and use a bicycle. Loaner bicycles can be found at a number of locations including the Charlotte Regional Medical Center – Wellness Center, Laishley Municipal Marina, Four Points by Sheraton, Fishermen’s Village Marina, Isles Yacht Club Marina and The Wyvern Hotel.
For more information and to obtain a copy of the Bicycle Loaner Program Brochure, click here. This brochure was made possible by a public outreach grant from the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (CHNEP), a partnership working to protect the natural environment from Venice to Bonita Springs to Winter Haven. Charlotte Harbor was designated an “estuary of national significance” by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency. The CHNEP partnership brings together citizens, elected officials, resource managers and resource users to solve the area’s most pressing environmental issues of water quality, water flow, habitat loss and stewardship. More information is available at www.chnep.org.
