TEAM Celebrates Graduating Senior Board Members

Members of the TEAM Punta Gorda board of directors held a celebration at the Charlotte Community Foundation to acknowledge Lindsey Akins and Christopher Papa, Charlotte High School graduating seniors, who are leaving the TEAM board to attend college.

“Serving on the TEAM board has been a great experience for us,” said Lindsey who will be majoring in elementary education at the University of South Florida.  “We’ve enjoyed working in the community gardens program, helping with the golf outing, as well as the recent food drive.”

Lindsey served as President of the Charlotte High student body while Chris served as Senior Class President.

“It has been so much fun,” said Chris. “TEAM is involved in so much in the community. Lindsey and I were especially proud to be part of last year’s “Journey to the Future” event which helped all of us be more informed about the new Punta Gorda City Plan.”

Also attending the celebration were other TEAM board members including President Sandy Dressler, Vice-President, Betsy Spagnolo, CFO/Treasurer Suzanne Herron, and CEO Nancy Johnson.

“These young people started out volunteering for our community gardens program,” said Sandy Dressler. “We were so impressed with them, we asked them to serve as student members of the TEAM board. They joined us and have done an outstanding job.”
