Communications and Marketing
The Communications and Marketing Committee is responsible for internal and external communications, for advocating and protecting the TEAM brand, and for insuring that TEAM message is positive and cohesive. External communications include website development and content, “Team Talk,” E-blast communications, social media, monthly newspaper columns, op-ed articles, and coverage of TEAM events and programs. Internal communications include the flow of information between committees, board members and others within the organization. The communications committee is also responsible for keeping all data bases up to date and for generating occasional emails to distribute information of interest to subscribers.
Here are the important functions within Communications and Marketing:
The Committee Chair(s) are responsible for the coordination of all communications functions, for much of the writing and editing, producing the Annual Report and coordinating the efforts of these committee members:
TEAM Talk Editor(s) are responsible for writing TEAM’s electronic newsletter, “TEAM Talk,” distributed 9 times a year to 2,000 + subscribers. Responsibilities include collecting information and photos from TEAM leadership, program Chairs and event organizers. The newsletter shares information on current TEAM happenings as well as upcoming events.
Webmaster(s) are responsible for keeping the TEAM Punta Gorda website current. It requires making necessary corrections, adding new pages and making revisions from time to time to keep the site fresh.
Media Liaison is responsible for distributing news releases to the area media, posting events on Punta Gorda and Charlotte County Chamber websites, the Sun Newspaper calendar and Community News and promoting media coverage of specific events.
Social Media Editor is primarily responsible for maintaining the TEAM Facebook page (www.facebook.com/teampuntagorda), posting on Next Door Punta Gorda and Burnt Store Isles, and other social media as determined by the Chairs.
Photographer/Videographer covers specific events as his or her time permits.
Data Base Management within the Constant Contact email program is critical to the appropriate and effective distribution of information about TEAM events and community news.
