Volunteers Revitalize garden beds at YMCA Cooper Street Recreation Center

TEAM volunteers recently  revitalized the beds at the front entrance of the YMCA Cooper Street Recreation Center.

The crew of five TEAM volunteers, along with Chris from the city of PG, only needed two hours to clean up the garden space and plant new beds.

This is property owned by the city and is used by the YMCA for various programs,  This is the second part of TEAM’s endeavor to help work with both the city and the YMCA.

TEAM School Gardens

The goal of the school gardens project is to give students a firsthand experience in growing their own fruits and vegetables.  There are a number of school teaching gardens located throughout Punta Gorda. This committee works collaboratively with the Charlotte County school district.  Funding is provided by The Mosaic Corporation.

The Charlotte High School Student Government also has two plots in our History Park Community Garden and donates their produce to the local food pantry.
