TEAM Builds
TEAM BUILDS is at it again in 2021
TEAM volunteers are partnering once again with Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity, this time on Habitat’s 500-home milestone. This new affordable home on Espie Street in Punta Gorda is TEAM’s fifth build. TEAM and Habitat have partnered on many initiatives over the years. As CEO Nancy Johnson told the Charlotte Sun, “If organizations had best friends, we would be best friends for sure.”
Habitat’s efforts to build affordable housing for families in need is exemplary. Its success is built upon hard work and community involvement.
TEAM’S SECOND BUILD OF 2020 HAS BEEN COMPLETED. Bravo to all the volunteers!
Weather may have dampened installation of vinyl siding and fascia on the new Habitat for Humanity house on Ixora Road in Punta Gorda, but TEAM volunteers made great progress during the waning months of 2020. They remained socially distanced and masked when in close contact (except for family members). TEAM volunteer project manager Peter Krumsiek reported in January that the sub-contractors are busy laying sod, installing the driveway and finishing the interior. Check back for further progress reports and photos. We thank all the volunteers who have participated. If you would like to become involved in TEAM’s next Build, please contact Peter at team@teampuntagorda.org

Siding and soffit completed. Caulking, spackle and finishing doors followed. Touch up paint was next. A few volunteers, working as a team but individually tasked, are nearing the final stages of the 2020 build.
TEAM Builds! partnered again in 2018 with Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity to build its second house. It took about 150 volunteers, 25 days to build this home.
