Ride to benefit TEAM Punta Gorda Bicycle-Friendly Programs & Other Initiatives

Over 300 riders enjoy great rides in paradise!

Pedal and Play in Paradise is a yearly TEAM Punta Gorda biking celebration, attracting hundreds of riders of all ages and abilities. This signature celebration offers multiple “rides” and includes breakfast, lunch, beverages, and entertainment. 2025 Chair Darcy Hanley reports on the amazing work of dozens of volunteers who contributed to the success of the event.

A Great Day to Pedal and Play in Paradise – 2023!

On a perfect Southwest Florida spring day, 417 riders enjoyed one of four cycling routes along with great food, drink, and entertainment. One cyclist summed up the March 25, 2023, Pedal and Play in Paradise event with this comment: “Upbeat with exercise, food, beer, and people…. what’s not to like?”

Thanks to the generous support of 39 event sponsors including Waste Management, Suncoast Beverage, and Harbor Scoops, a good time was had by all participants. In addition to cycling around the beautiful greater Punta Gorda area, riders partook of Yoga, massages, raffles, and fun games.

Of the 134 riders who responded to the rider survey, 98% indicated they would recommend Pedal and Play to friends. This was a heartening result for the hundreds of TEAM volunteers and Naval Junior ROTC students who put in countless hours to produce a memorable event.

A Fun Day for All!

“What a fun ride!” proclaimed a smiling cyclist, as they crossed the Start/Finish line at TEAM Punta Gorda’s March 26, 2022, Pedal and Play in Paradise. Gauging from the smiling faces on the 444 riders in attendance, that rider’s observation mirrored the experience of many others. (Click HERE to read more).
